The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood is a dystopian novel about a woman named Offred who lives in a society where women have lost many of their rights and freedoms. Forced into the role of a Handmaid, Offred is expected to bear children for a powerful family while living under strict government control. As she remembers her former life, she quietly searches for ways to maintain her identity and independence. The novel explores themes of freedom, power, identity, control, and resistance through a tense and thought-provoking story.
